Happy Birthday Dusty Cal Witham. An extraordinary man. An extraordinary life

During our spring visit in Upstate New York we were able to visit with family and friends that we are not able to see frequently. One of the visits we made several times was to see my grandfather and aunt who live near Cambridge.

Today, May 25, is my grandfather’s 92nd birthday. In honor of his birthday, we published a video on our YouTube channel today that features an interview we conducted with him while we were in New York. My grandfather, Cal Witham (aka Dusty Cal Witham), was a professional country music performer before he became a minister. My grandparents, Dusty Cal and Bonnie Louise, were well known throughout New England because of their frequent live performances, as well as radio and television appearances. In this video, my grandfather talks with us about both his country music entertainment career and his subsequent career as a minister.

When we shared with Brian that we were headed to Texas next, he gave us a couple of places to consider – one of them being Hueco Tanks. Thanks Brian! Continue reading “Hueco Tanks Texas State Park-AWEmazing Rock Climbers and Ancient Rock Art”

Episode 28-Icy Winter Storms. Running from Panhandlers. Leaving Town at Midnight

Photo of Debra and Robert

For those who aren’t on FB or IG, this article is a list of what we shared in our 2 days of travel.

But first, please be sure you’ve watched the video.

ICY WINTER STORMS
We left Wyoming Monday, February 5, and drove through 12+ hours of icy winter storms.

RUNNING FROM PANHANDLERS
We were going to rest awhile the next morning and get some work done but decided to head out after being approached by aggressive panhandlers.

LEAVING TOWN AT MIDNIGHT
Then we made it to what we thought was our destination the next night, Tuesday, February 6 – at midnight! Only to find out there was no room at the inn – or anywhere for that matter. So we drove another two hours to surprise our friends Mark and Irene, and camp with them before they headed out.

Two VERY long days, but we had fun. Here’s our live blogs from social media that covered the two days in detail. Continue reading “Episode 28-Icy Winter Storms. Running from Panhandlers. Leaving Town at Midnight”

I am not able to share with you what the Episode 24 video means to me, as well as our subsequent Health Quest Challenge, without first giving you a review of past events. Please bear with me through this timeline hop.

After I had to leave my 12 year career with the State of Texas because of my brain injury, I tried a myriad of jobs. The list below seems endless and was definitely tumultuous.
